Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 24, 2026
Your family's privacy comes first. Know the Kids? is built so that we never see your information at all: no accounts, no ads, no tracking, and nothing sent to us.
1What stays on your phone
Everything you enter — children's names, birthdays, questions, answers, quiz scores and your app PIN — is saved only on your device. In the iPhone app it is encrypted, and the key never leaves that iPhone. We do not run servers or databases for your data, and we use no analytics, advertising or tracking tools.
2Sharing a quiz
When you share, the quiz goes directly from your screen to the other person's camera inside an encrypted QR code, protected by a share code you give them. If they use the "New to App" link, it opens this website; the quiz itself rides in the part of the link after the "#", which browsers never send to the website, so the website never receives it. Like any website, our hosting provider may briefly process standard technical details (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver the page.
3Backups
If you make a backup, it is a file you choose where to keep (for example Files, iCloud Drive or email). It is encrypted with a password you pick. We never receive it, and we cannot open it or recover a forgotten password.
4Camera
The camera is used only to scan Know the Kids? QR codes. Images are not saved or sent anywhere.
5Purchases
The optional Creator Unlock is handled by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details.
6Children
Know the Kids? is meant to be used by parents and other adults. Information about a child is entered by an adult and stays on that adult's device. We do not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
7Deleting your data
Use Delete All Kids & Data in the app, or delete the app. Because we hold no copy, there is nothing on our side to delete.
8Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date above and the policy on this page.
